Hollywood power couple Catherine Zeta Jones and Michael Douglas have opened the first phase of the Children's Hospital for Wales.

Actress Zeta Jones is a patron of the Noah's Ark Appeal - set up in order to raise money for the hospital - and said that she was "very proud" of what the charity had achieved.

However, according to BBC News Online, she admitted: "We have a lot more work to do and a lot more campaigning to do and I'm just very proud that we now have our designated children's hospital in Wales."

Douglas, who joined his wife at the unveiling, said that the hospital looked "stunning".

The hospital has already treated almost 2,000 outpatients and 625 day cases.
