Lindsay Lohan's dad Michael hopes she stays sober

Lindsay Lohan's father Michael Lohan has expressed hope that the actress will remain sober.

Mean Girls star Lindsay has publicly struggled with addiction in recent years and recently emerged from a house arrest stint for allegedly stealing a necklace.

The actress has since modelled for designer Philipp Plein's upcoming campaign and also signed on to co-star with John Travolta in the upcoming Gotti biopic.

Michael said that he is trying to set a positive example by staying sober, but added that Lindsay is responsible for her own choices.

"She's going to be in a fashion thing. She has the Gotti movie coming up and I just hope that she stays on the right path," he told Access Hollywood. "I can't tell her what to do anymore. She's a grown woman. I can just be an example. I'm trying to be as best as I can."

His younger daughter Ali Lohan was the subject of controversy this month when published photographed showed seemingly enhanced features on the 17-year-old's face.

Michael denied that Ali has gone under the knife, saying: "She didn't have plastic surgery. They said the same thing about Lindsay with breast augmentation. She never had that either."

Both Lindsay and her mother Dina have also blasted any suggestions that Ali has had cosmetic surgery.
