Goldberg won a 'Best Supporting Actress' Oscar for Ghost and also earned Golden Globe and People's Choice Award nominations throughout her career, but has taken on fewer acting roles since becoming The View's moderator in 2007.
"I used to be a really great actor... then I took a different kind of gig," she joked at Monday's Artios Awards. "Don't get me wrong, I'm happy I got the gig. It's just a different kind of gig."
Goldberg recently adopted an abused kitten which was featured in a pet adoption segment on The View.
She previously admitted that she never truly loved any of her three former husbands, adding that she doesn't believe she will ever marry again.
Goldberg will next appear on the big screen in The Muppets, which opens on November 23 in the US and on February 10, 2012 in the UK.
