Rik Waller blames fame for love life woes

Rik Waller has complained about his struggle to find a girlfriend.

The former Pop Idol and Celebrity Fit Club star claims that it is difficult to meet a woman who isn't just interested in his "fame".

"I feel like I've been on an emotional rollercoaster since Pop Idol," Waller told The People. "But now I'm ready for love. The thing is, I've been single for three and a half years now. But it's really hard for me to meet someone genuine who isn't interested in me just for my success.

"I've thought of advertising or doing internet dating so they could fall for my real personality and not the showbiz image. But I'd still have to face that first meeting when they discover I'm the Rik Waller."

Waller is currently spending time on the road with his band Unfinished Business.

He added, "The trouble is, I've been stung by the kiss and tell girls, so I'm wary of the fame chasers after a one-night stand. I meet some lovely girls after gigs and I get loads of offers, but it's hard to trust their motives."
