Michael proposed to Major after a public courtship, but called off the engagement in July 2010 when Major claimed that he had struck her in the face.
Major eventually dropped domestic violence charges against Michael, with the pair wishing each other well.
Major has now won an order of protection against Michael after telling a Florida judge that her former boyfriend threatened to "ruin her career" in a series of texts and calls.
Michael is banned from being within 500 feet of Major and was also told not to call or text her again, reports TMZ.
Speaking to the website, Michael insisted that he has done nothing wrong. "This is just another way of Kate trying to make money," Michael said.
Michael previously commented that he is hopeful his daughter Lindsay will stay sober.
