Hank Williams Jr has issued an apology for his recent comments about Barack Obama.
The country singer caused controversy this week after comparing the US President to Hitler during an appearance on Fox and Friends.

While discussing the Republican Party candidates for the 2012 election, Williams Jr said that Obama playing golf with Speaker of the House of Representatives John Boehner was "like Hitler playing golf with [Israeli prime minister Benjamin] Netanyahu".
While he later attempted to explain his "misunderstood" remarks, Williams Jr has since posted a statement via his official website.
"I have always been very passionate about Politics and Sports and this time it got the Best or Worst of me (sic)," he wrote.
"The thought of the Leaders of both Parties Jukin and High Fiven on a Golf course, while so many Families are Struggling to get by simply made me Boil over and make a Dumb statement and I am very Sorry if it Offended anyone. I would like to Thank all my supporters. This was Not written by some Publicist."
Williams' track 'All My Rowdy Friends Are Back for Monday Night' - which was used as the introductory music on Monday Night Football - was removed from ESPN by network executives following the incident.
