The Wolverine actor is father to 11-year-old son Oscar and 6-year-old daughter Ava with wife Deborra-Lee Furness.
Jackman told People that he keeps his children occupied to the extent that they have no time to watch TV or use the internet.
"A buddy of mine has a rule that I installed - no screens during the week. No TV, or computer, or anything like that," he explained.
"Kids nowadays have very little time. They seem to be at school longer than ever. They have all sorts of after school activities. By the time you have eaten and showered and dressed, it is over. So there is not much time for it anyway."
Furness previously admitted that she "hurts" when reading negative things written about her in the press.
Jackman recently joked that Furness becomes upset when he looks good, as she feels it's unfair for him to look better than she does.
