JK may kill off Harry in seventh book

JK Rowling admitted that she is considering killing off Harry Potter in the final book of the series.

The 40-year-old author told Richard and Judy last night that ending the main character's life would prevent follow-up books being written later.

She said: “I completely understand the mentality of killing him because that means there can be no non-author written sequels. It will end with me and after I’m dead they won’t be able to bring back the character. I’m not going to commit myself, though, because I don’t want the hate mail.”

She did reveal that at least two characters would die, as she changed the ending of the final book.

“One character got a reprieve but I have to say that two die that I didn’t want to die,” she told the TV couple.
