Andrew Daddo has revealed that he is the ideal person to present The One.

The Australian star, who was recently announced as the host of the Seven Network show which aims to find Australia's "most gifted psychic", described his mother as a "witch" and said that he believes in the strength of people's intuition.

Daddo told National Features: "Mum's into... she's a witch. She's a colour therapist, a naturopath and has always been on the ethereal spectrum. She would make decisions using crystals. When my son broke his arm... she's walked into the hospital room spraying orange stuff to heal him. She's a good witch."

He said that his son Felix often asks him to "consult [his] spirit guide" if they get lost on the way somewhere, adding: "He's 12 and hilarious."

Daddo also revealed that he believes that "a small, finite number of people" have special powers. "I think there are more people who are highly intuitive and think they've got something going on," he said.

"Then I think there's a whole bunch of people who know they've got nothing going on, but they're really good at looking otherwise."

Daddo is best known as a radio presenter on Sydney's ABC 702, host of This Afternoon and the narrator for Channel Nine's new series The Apprentice Australia.

His older brother Cameron has had roles in 24 and Leverage, while younger brother Lochie played Stephen Gottlieb in Neighbours for a year.

The One continues next Wednesday at 7:30pm AEST on Seven.
