Avril Lavigne hits out at drug use

Avril Lavigne has given her opinion of celebrities who take drugs.

The singer has a strong dislike for illegal substances of all kinds, and remains adamant she never used them herself: "I'm proud to say that I do not do drugs. I'm against them 100 per cent - and I don't hang out with people who do drugs."

Lavigne is also determined to make a success out of her acting career: "That's how I go about things. I do what I do and take the steps I'm going to take and I don't worry about other people. I don't think anyone should go through life that way."

She plays the voice of a possum in upcoming film Over The Hedge.
