Dappy 'arrested on suspicion of assaulting girlfriend'

N-Dubz star Dappy was arrested on suspicion of attacking his girlfriend yesterday.

The rapper was held by police for 12 hours after they were called to the home of Kaye Vassell's mother. He was later released without charge.

"Police were called at 8.59am to an ­address in W6 to reports of a woman assaulted," a Met Police ­spokesman told the Sunday Mirror.

"Officers attended and arrested a 24-year-old man on suspicion of common assault. No further action will be taken."

Last year, Dappy was treated in hospital for a broken nose after being attacked by Vassell. She subsequently dumped him.

The couple welcomed their second son in December, but the pair split again in March of this year. Accusations that Dappy had cheated on Vassell soon followed in May.

She has said in a previous interview: "He's hurt me beyond belief, so I'm ­walking away. Dappy just isn't mature enough to have a proper relationship. He's confessed to six affairs but I get messages every day from girls who say they've slept with him."

Vassell recently admitted leaking a naked photograph of Dappy online, claiming that he wanted the image on the internet.
