The 94-year-old socialite was hospitalised on Saturday morning with a high fever, and has remained under the care of the UCLA Medical Centre since then.
Gabor went under the knife on Sunday evening after the loose feeding tube began to cause bleeding. Her publicist John Blanchette told the press that she is doing well.
The actress's husband Prince Frederic von Anhalt also confirmed on Sunday that she could be sent home in a few days. He explained that doctors have brought Gabor's blood pressure down with strong antibiotics, and have expressed "guarded optimism" about her recovery.
"She's a big fighter," von Anhalt told the Los Angeles Times earlier today. "I always feel optimistic, because I know her."
Over the past decade, Gabor has suffered a serious car crash, a stroke and blood clots which led to one of her legs being amputated above the knee.
In May, she spent just over a week in a coma after doctors discovered blood in her feeding tube.
