Sorvino was rushed to St. Luke's Hospital following the collision, which occurred as he was trying to hail the taxi, according to Page Six.
Doctors observed Sorvino for several hours following the accident, but the star reportedly remained in good spirits.
His agent Ari Goldstein said: "He was in shock, and one side of his body is bruised, but he is OK. He told me, 'You're not knocking The Boss down'."
Sorvino is perhaps best known for playing mob boss Paul Cicero in Goodfellas, but he also received a SAG Award nomination for his performance in Nixon and appeared in the 1995 film adaptation of Romeo + Juliet.
His daughter is actress Mira Sorvino, who won an Oscar for Mighty Aphrodite.
Paul will next star opposite Edward Furlong and James Caan in the crime drama For the Love of Money.
