The musician is partnering with WhyHunger and Hard Rock International for the 'Imagine There's No Hunger' campaign, which is named after a lyric in her late husband John Lennon's song 'Imagine'.
Ono is asking that people pause at 1pm EDT (5pm GMT) on November 1 to "imagine a nourished and abundant world, where 'the world will live as one'".
An 'Imagine There's No Hunger' commemorative bracelet will be available for purchase and several events will be held at Hard Rock Cafes around the globe to raise awareness of starvation in the Third World.
Those interested can also donate by texting the word 'Imagine' to 50555.
Ono recently returned to her homeland of Japan to tour the devastation caused by March's massive earthquake.
