Mary Portas has said that Cheryl Cole's styling during her spell in Los Angeles was "really wrong".

The Mary Queen of Shops host told Heat that she was not a fan of the Girls Aloud singer's look during her recent stay in the US.

"That was really wrong, wasn't it?" Portas said. "There was that massive hair and then the tiny body. It was really just a wrong move."

Portas also criticised the styling of female MPs and took issue with Kate Middleton's status as a fashion icon.

Of the velour tracksuits in Katie Price's Day 22 range, she said: "Now, why did I think it would be any different? Well, that's called brand extension, darling. What else would you expect?"

Regarding Carol Vorderman's insults of her own fashion collection, Portas said: "Carol Vorderman slagged off my collection. Tick. Big tick, baby. I would have worried if it had been anyone else."
