Jack Black: 'I dreamed of becoming an actor'

Jack Black has revealed that he dreamed of becoming an actor when he was a boy.

The Big Year star revealed that he has been interested in acting as far back as he can remember.

Black told The AP: "I was really very interested in theatre in high school and getting up on the stage, and the craft, and acting and improvisation. I remember in high school, I had a recurring dream, and this is pretty on the nose with regards to its meaning.

"I dreamt that I was in the theatre at my high school, and I had the power of flight, and I would fly around the theatre, and people would be amazed at my power of flight. Then I would fly outside into the lunch area and just immediately lost my powers of flight. I'm just walking around."

Black landed his major first role in Tim Robbins's 1992 political comedy Bob Roberts and went on to star in the box office blockbusters School of Rock, Nacho Libre and Tropic Thunder.

His latest movie The Big Year, which co-stars Steve Martin and Owen Wilson, is now playing in the US and is released in the UK on March 23, 2012.
