Sonic Youth's Kim Gordon, Thurston Moore split after 27 years

The couple made a joint statement through their label Matador Records confirming that, despite the end of their marriage, they will continue to perform together with the rest of Sonic Youth.
"Musicians Kim Gordon and Thurston Moore are announcing they have separated," Matador Records said in a statement.
"Sonic Youth, with both Kim and Thurston involved, will proceed with its South American tour dates in November," it continued. "Plans beyond that tour are uncertain.
"The couple has requested respect for their personal privacy and does not wish to issue further comment."
Gordon and Moore married in 1984 and have 17-year-old daughter Coco together.
