Coleen Rooney: 'Wayne didn't punch minibus'

Coleen Rooney has rubbished tabloid claims that husband Wayne attacked a minibus last Sunday.

The Manchester United footballer had been to watch Rihanna at the Manchester Evening News Arena with his wife and friends, travelling there on a minibus.

The Sunday Mirror claims that Wayne "punched the vehicle with his fist twice, damaging a headlight, the front grille and the bonnet" when the chauffeur was late picking them up on their return journey.

Coleen wrote on Twitter: "Just seen the piece in the Sunday Mirror what a load of rubbish!! Even though we told them yesterday they still print it!

"In the words of Rihanna herself..... Don't let the B@#####S get you down!!! #wedont (sic)."

A spokesman for Wayne branded the allegations "­malicious and untrue in every detail".

"There was no row and Wayne neither hit nor did any damage at all to the minibus," he added.

Wayne later tweeted: "What a load of rubbish in Sunday mirror today. #wrong"

Earlier this month, Wayne's father and uncle were arrested in connection with an alleged football betting scam. They were later released on bail and vowed to clear their name.
