Chris Martin: 'Gwyneth Paltrow marriage is like winning the lottery'

Chris Martin has described his romance with Gwyneth Paltrow as like "winning the lottery".
The Coldplay frontman confirmed that his seven-year marriage to Paltrow has been his only serious relationship.
In an interview with CBS Sunday Morning, Martin jested along with host Anthony Mason's suggestion that dating Paltrow was "a big leap".
"It's a big leap? What, from being a loser, to going out with an Oscar winner?" he asked. "It's a giant leap. Let's face it; it's like winning the lottery."
Martin added that he felt like his children with Paltrow, Apple, 7, and 5-year-old Moses, had given him "purpose" in life.
"It's made it more focused. And you have a purpose," he commented. "I like what it does. Just the idea of having to work hard so your kids are okay."
