Taylor Swift has donated $68,000 (£43,144) worth of books to a Pennsylvania library.

The 'Love Story' singer is giving away the books to a library near her hometown of Wyomissing, PA to encourage more young people to read and aid the cash-strapped library system.

Swift invited a group of librarians and other education professionals to personally select books that they believe the kids will enjoy.

The musician recently revealed that her new fragrance is named 'Wonderstruck' because she's constantly in awe of the musical guests on her current tour.

Swift has been named Billboard's Woman of the Year and will accept the honour on December 2 at the Billboard Women in Music 2011 Awards.

She also has said that her next studio album will mostly feature "sad" songs about "moving on" from disappointments.
