Nick Lachey's new girlfriend, MTV presenter Vanessa Minnillo, has spoken about the couple's relationship only days after Lachey's divorce from Jessica Simpson was finalised.

The television host was a mutual friend of the Newlyweds stars before their separation, and got together with Lachey after appearing in his latest music video.

Speaking to Hollywood gossip Perez Hilton, she said: "Nick's a really great guy. He's very sweet and we're really happy."

Even though Lachey lives in Los Angeles and Minnillo works in New York, the pair are apparently convinced that they can overcome the challenges they face. "There are certain sacrifices that we make. We see each other as often as we can. We're gonna make it work," she affirmed.
