The 'Dig In' singer admitted that he doesn't fully understand politics, but declared that it is unfair to brand Obama either a complete success or a total failure.
Kravitz told The AP: "It's a tough gig. I think he's done a lot of great things and I think that some things are challenging and difficult for him.
"I don't know how [politics] works. I know how I think it works, but we don't know how it really works. And so, you know, when I'm talking about him and I'm identifying with all this, it has a lot to do with sort of the social aspect of the whole thing, not just political."
Kravitz also opened up about being born to interracial parents, saying that he was raised not to care about skin colour.
"I grew up in a house full of every colour. I didn't know anything about problems until I went to first grade and it was brought to my attention," he said.
"I knew my father looked different than my mother, but I didn't know that that meant anything... I had no idea that it was an issue."
Kravitz recently released his ninth studio album Black and White America, which features the hit 'Come On Get It'.
