Kelsey Grammer: 'Real Housewives was my parting gift to Camille'

Kelsey Grammer has claimed that getting his ex-wife Camille Grammer on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills was his "parting gift" to her.

The Frasier star, whose divorce from Camille was finalised earlier this year, claimed that their marriage was troubled from the beginning and destined to fail.

"Camille asked for a divorce really almost the first day we were married. If you say you want a divorce enough times, you're going to get one," Kelsey said during an interview on Piers Morgan Tonight.

"I think what I was trying to do was sell it to myself. There was this small voice in the back of my head saying, 'This isn't going to work.' But I stuck to it."

Kelsey went on to claim that Camille was only interested in him "because [he] was Frasier" and accused the reality star of wanting desperately to be famous, eventually leading to her joining the cast of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

"I have to tell you, the Real Housewives was my parting gift to her. Whether or not it worked well for her doesn't matter. It was my way of saying, 'Look, you always wanted to be famous. Here you go'," he explained.

Kelsey married girlfriend Kayte Walsh in February, days after his divorce from Camille was finalised in February.
