Jim Davidson declares bankruptcy

Jim Davidson has been forced to declare bankruptcy, with a £1.4m tax bill hanging over his head.
The comedian admitted he had been struggling to pay the bills, but that HM Revenue and Customs' refusal to compromise over the case had led to the situation.
The 52-year-old, who lives in Dubai, told BBC News: "This is kind of a shock to me, the tax man has, for reasons best known to himself, pulled the rug out from under my feet. I am still pretty solvent. I just can't pay £700,000 right now."
"I wanted to be honest with the tax man - I offered to sell everything I have got," Davidson continued.
A spokesman for Customs and Revenue was unable to comment on a specific case.
