The 'Crank That' rapper - real name DeAndre Cortez Way - was arrested on drugs and weapons charges after police discovered guns and marijuana in a car in which he was travelling with four other men in Georgia.
Way was released from police custody after a bail of $10,000 was posted. After leaving court, he told fans outside: "I'm innocent, man. I love you all. I just want you all to know I'm innocent," according to CBS Atlanta.
The rapper was also reunited with his pet puppy, who was confiscated from him while he remained in custody.
He later took to Twitter writing: "Thank you and i'm sorry. love you forever, seeing your letters and you standing outside that jail made me feel the love. my fans r the best. (sic)".
Soulja Boy: The Movie, a documentary based on his life, was also released on the day of his arrest.
