Mariska Hargitay: 'We're still in shock over baby Andrew adoption'

Mariska Hargitay has said that she and husband Peter Hermann are still "in shock" over the recent adoption of a baby son.

The Law and Order: Special Victims Unit star announced on Thursday that she and Hermann had welcomed Andrew Nicolas Hargitay Hermann to her family, months after adopting daughter Amaya Josephine.

Hargitay told People: "It was all very quick. It was a week that changed our lives. We're still in shock.

"What did we do to get so lucky? We're getting all squared away and settled. I'm so happy he's home."

Hargitay and Hermann are also parents to a 5-year-old son, August. The actress revealed that she had passed on all of his baby clothes to her godson's family, adding that "friends are coming over with onesies" for her new arrival.

Earlier this year, Hargitay confessed that she sometimes struggled to raise multiple children, calling it "a skill" which she works hard to master.
