Michael McIntyre has been named the best British stand-up comedian by readers of Digital Spy.
Over 10,000 people voted in the exclusive poll to mark the launch of our new comedy section, with a significant 14.3% giving their support to former Britain's Got Talent judge McIntyre.

Peter Kay was in second place with 8.9%, just beating Lee Evans with 8.8% into third. Alan Carr's 7.5% was good enough for fourth position, while his namesake Jimmy Carr rounded out the top five on 5.6%.
The full top ten was as follows:
1. Michael McIntyre
2. Peter Kay
3. Lee Evans
4. Alan Carr
5. Jimmy Carr
6. Billy Connolly
7. Ricky Gervais
8. Sarah Millican
9. Stewart Lee
10. Eddie Izzard
The depth of quality in British stand-up was reflected by a healthy 10.6% vote in the 'Other' category.
There were strong showings for the likes of John Bishop, Micky Flanagan, Tim Vine, Jack Whitehall, Dara O'Briain, Kevin Bridges and Lee Mack, but not enough votes were polled to squeeze them into our top ten.
And those of you frustrated at being restricted to the present day and our own islands, we'll be looking further afield - and much further back - in an even bigger poll next week...
