Shane Warne's ex-wife reveals his cynicism about new romance

Simone Callahan has revealed that ex-husband Shane Warne was cynical about her relationship with model Toby Roberts.

The Australian star, who split from cricketer Warne around the same time he started dating Liz Hurley, said that although she was drawn to Roberts's "energy and attraction", she did not realise that they would end up developing such a strong connection.

Callahan told Woman's Day magazine: "I think [Shane] thought this might have been a relationship that would be all over pretty quickly."

Roberts also revealed that he held back when he first met Callahan because she was still hurting from the end of her marriage, saying: "I didn't want to plunge headlong into things because I knew you and Shane were very much together late last year. I thought it could have been a rebound situation".

However, he added that they have "very similar personalities" and their friendship soon became a "loving relationship".

"There's a good dynamic between us," Roberts said.

Callahan admitted that Warne and Hurley's recent engagement came as "a little bit of a shock" to her and their children 14-year-old Brooke, 12-year-old Jackson and 10-year-old Summer, but added: "He can do what he wants."

She recently revealed that her confidence "took a beating" when she first found out about Warne and Hurley's relationship.
