The You're Beautiful singer will continue to write music in private while living the life of a mountain farmer.
A relative told The Sun, "He has bought this mountain and a beautiful old house. He wants to get away from it all. He wants to live the rural dream - with only donkeys, chickens, pigs and ducks for company.
"He hopes to produce his own wine and olive oil while working on his music."
Blunt's decision has apparently disappointed some relatives - they had hoped that he would instead use his new-found fortune to stop a Norfolk windmill, which has been in his family since 1919, from having to be sold.
