The Occupy Cincinnati demonstrations are an outgrowth of a series of rallies that have been on Wall Street in New York City over the last month.
The singer and ten others were taken into custody at 3am local time on Sunday morning while holding a rally near Cincinnati's famed Fountain Square, reports The Cincinnati Enquirer.
Jeffre has been charged trespassing and unlawful use of the public square.
Discussing his arrest with the newspaper, Jeffre admitted that being jailed was "no fun", but stood behind calls for Wall Street to adopt more responsible economic policy.
Many celebrities have supported New York City's Occupy Wall Street demonstrations. Gossip Girl star Penn Badgley visited several events and later praised the protestors for remaining peaceful.
Music executive Russell Simmons said he was willing to be arrested with demonstrations after bringing Kanye West to the demonstrations at Zuccotti Park.
