Murray was moved to tears as several witnesses including a former patient appeared in court to defend the doctor.
Gerry Causey was the first character witness called by Murray's defence team. The Utah resident was a former patient of Murray, who had treated him for a heart attack 11 years ago, and the pair remain good friends to this day.
Causey described Murray as his best friend, and said: "I just don't think he did what he's been accused of."
Dennis Hix of California revealed that Murray had performed a stent procedure on him for free in the past.
Andrew Guest, from Las Vegas, added: "He makes sure you're okay, during the procedure, after the procedure. I'm alive today because of that man."
Michael Jackson's former nurse revealed yesterday that he had allegedly "begged" for propofol drips during her care.
The trial is scheduled to continue for at least another three weeks and Murray could face up to four years in prison if found guilty.
