Paris Hilton gives up on vet dream

Paris Hilton decided to ditch her dream of becoming a veterinarian after realising what the job would entail.

The 'Stars Are Blind' singer loves animals but chose not to pursue her childhood ambition of working with them after discovering she may have to kill them as well as save them.

She told Contactmusic: "I first wanted to be a veterinarian. And then I realised you had to give them shots to put them to sleep, so I decided I'd just buy a bunch of animals and have them in my house instead."

The socialite recently purchased a kitten and a parrot to add to her growing menagerie, which also includes various dogs, ferrets and monkeys.
