McConaughey goes on three day binge

Matthew McConaughey has celebrated his newly single status by embarking upon a three-day drinking binge in Costa Rica.

After the Failure to Launch star split from long-time girlfriend Penelope Cruz last month, the pair issued a joint statement saying: "We have decided to take time off as a couple. Due to busy work schedules and so much time apart, we mutually decided four weeks ago that separating was the best thing to do at this time."

It now seems that the actor is relishing being a bachelor again, after he spent several nights partying.

WENN reports that during one drunken night out, McConaughey dominated the dancefloor at a local club and attempted to impress nearby women wearing only a pair of shorts before collapsing on the floor, and then making his way to the DJ booth.
