Some news outlets reported that Michelle regretted her 2008 appearance on Paula's Party because Deen doesn't always adhere to healthy-eating strategies. Michelle has a been a champion of healthy eating for children since her husband took office in 2009.
However, Deen denied that there is any rift with the First Family and insisted that she and Michelle remain on friendly terms.
"There's no truth... that Mrs. Obama called me to stop talking about her [2008] appearance on my programme," Deen told Page Six.
Deen continued: "We had the best time [on Paula's Party]. I taught her how to make fried shrimp and fries. It was easy to see by her buff arms she follows a healthy lifestyle, but it didn't stop her from enjoying the food. Everything in moderation!"
Deen's series Paula's Best Dishes airs at 10.30am EST on Saturdays on the Food Network.
