Alexa Ray Joel: 'Ex-boyfriend gave me STD'

Alexa Ray Joel has revealed that she contracted a sexually transmitted disease from an ex-boyfriend.

Alexa sought immediate treatment after being diagnosed with human papillomavirus (HPV), and said that she is now feeling well.

Billy Joel and Christie Brinkley's 25-year-old daughter has insisted that her unnamed former partner never had an affair, but had been sexually active before dating her.

She told xoJane: "I had [HPV]… I mean it was fine, you know. There are no side effects [in some cases]. You just go and get it taken care of... I wasn't angry with him, because it's so common and he wasn't cheating on me. I mean I was living with him; I saw him every day."

In 2009, Alexa was hospitalised after accidentally overdosing on homeopathic aspirin pills.

She later claimed that she was upset over a break-up but, but had no intention of ending her life.
