The Bad Teacher star confessed that he felt "uncomfortable" while attending a recent screening of his new movie In Time.
"It is wildly uncomfortable," Timberlake told David Letterman on The Late Show. "For this screening, I wouldn't have stayed but I had basically 40 friends who came to the movie."
He continued: "I felt like it was the first time they genuinely wanted to see me in a movie, and not Mila Kunis and Cameron Diaz... I sweated a lot... Not good stuff."
Timberlake went on to admit that he is very demanding of himself not only in films, but in music as well.
"You're definitely critical of your performance, always. But I find the same with music, too."
He further explained: "If a song of mine comes on the radio, which sometimes it still does, I find that I naturally want to change the channel. You pick it apart."
Timberlake recently revealed that he stole a golf cart with Ryan Gosling when he was younger.
The actor's In Time co-star Amanda Seyfried has promised that the film will leave viewers "breathless".
In Time is released tomorrow (October 28) in the US and on November 1 in the UK.
