The Australian actress, who has been spending three months a year in Los Angeles since leaving Packed to the Rafters in 2010, said that some fellow auditionees sometimes stare out rivals to threaten them before they enter the audition room.
Ventoura told 2DayFM: "[The process can be] crushing, especially when you have a fairly successful career back home. You've gotta start from scratch [in the US] - they don't know who you are or what you've done. They don't really care.
"Some girls give you an evil vibe to try and throw you off. A couple of times I've had to escape [to the toilet] for a minute. It's early days."

She also revealed that she has become "really good friends" with Natalie Imbruglia in the last few weeks because they have been taking acting classes together.
