'Like Crazy' star Anton Yelchin: 'Acting is natural for me'

Anton Yelchin has suggested that acting comes naturally to him.

The Fright Night star was just 11 years old when he made his screen debut in a 2000 episode of ER, but said that even then he had a passion for playing interesting characters.

"I loved the improvisation part of it the most, because it was a lot like just playing around with stuff. There was something about it that I just felt completely comfortable doing and happy doing," Yelchin revealed to The AP.

Yelchin also credited his Russian-born parents Irina and Viktor with supporting his efforts to pursue his dreams.

"My parents were like, 'OK, our kid is happy doing this. This is great'," he explained. "They were figure skaters and grew up going to school and skating, so for them, a person needs to have things to do. They don't just sit around the house watching TV."

Yelchin recently expressed his admiration for Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence and praised her as a "powerful person".

He is currently starring in the romantic drama Like Crazy, which is now playing in US cinemas and opens on February 3, 2012 in the UK.
