Michael Lohan denied bail in harassment case

Lindsay Lohan's father Michael Lohan has been denied bail in his harassment case.

Lohan has been involved in a series of incidents with ex-fiancée Kate Major over the last week in Florida.

On Monday, Lohan was temporarily jailed following a physical dispute with Major at her Tampa residence.

He was arrested again two days later for defying an order by a Florida judge not to contact Major under any circumstances. He apparently tried to evade police by climbing down his balcony, leading to a foot injury.

Michael and his lawyer spoke to a judge from jail on Friday in an attempt to get the Mean Girls star's father freed on bail. Michael was seated in a wheelchair during the hearing due to his injured foot.

His attorney insisted that Michael had prior commitments to film a reality series with Dr Drew Pinsky and compete in a charity boxing match with Real Housewives of DC star Tareq Salahi.

Michael's lawyer also claimed that he wants to be with his daughter at her own court hearing in LA next Wednesday.

During the hearing, a tearful Major testified that Michael was disrupting her life by continuously calling her.

The presiding judge ultimately denied Michael's request for bail, which assures that he will stay in jail until his next court hearing at the very least, according to TMZ.

In March, Michael was arrested after an alleged violent confrontation with Major, but the case was dropped by LA prosecutors when Major stopped co-operating with the investigation.
