Uma Thurman has categorically refused to bad-mouth her former husband Ethan Hawke, despite acknowledging that their marriage was difficult.
The couple married in 1998 after meeting while working on the film Gattaca together and had two children together before divorcing in 2004. Since then rumours that Hawke was unfaithful during their marriage have been persistent.
"I cannot participate in anything critical about my children's father. I just need to keep peace. I think it's fair to say that I haven't said one mean thing, and I'm not going to start now. It's terrible for my family," the Kill Bill actress told Parade magazine.
Talking about their separation, Thurman continued: "If I see one more headline about it, I'll gag. I'm just another American woman who was in an unfulfilled marriage that fell apart."
