Eight squad cars and various officers were called to the Australian Olympic swimmer's Southbank apartment early on Sunday morning and allegedly found it in a mess, with a grand piano overturned.
Hackett has not been seen since Saturday, but his wife Candice Alley was spotted leaving their home with one of their twins yesterday. According to the Herald Sun, Alley was at home during the incident but has refused to comment.
On Saturday, Hackett hosted the Westpac marquee at Flemington on Derby Day. Alley posted a picture of herself at the races on Twitter and wrote on her official website that she and Hackett had spent a "fabulous day" together at the event.
The couple later attended an after party at The Den - located at Crown Casino's Atlantic restaurant - with DJ Ruby Rose. Rose took to her Twitter page to praise Hackett as an "amazing" host.
Hackett and Alley married in 2007 and welcomed twins Jagger and Charlize two years later.
