The 32-year-old, who already has Eva and Sam with former swimmer husband Matt Welsh, said that she was six weeks pregnant when she was told by doctors that she would have to have a termination due to the baby developing outside the womb.
Lauren told Woman's Day magazine: "I was devastated. I was just so shocked and beside myself. Mum spoke to the doctor and he said it was 95% certain that it was an ectopic pregnancy and that he didn't want to leave it.
"It had been such a lovely surprise being pregnant and then to think about having to lose it that way was just awful. You can't help but feel like your body has let you down."
Her mother Patti, who was with Lauren throughout the termination, agreed: "It was so frightening and sad."
Lauren has since announced another pregnancy and said that her actor brother Matthew, who has been in and out of a psychiatric clinic since allegedly attacking former girlfriend Rachael Taylor last year, is very "excited" about the prospect of being an uncle again.
