The My Week with Marilyn actress confessed that she has become fond of her pixie style and has no plans to grow it out, despite its lack of popularity with the opposite sex and her daughter.
"What [my daughter] Matilda would love is for her mum to grow out the cropped hair, though that's unlikely to happen any time soon," Williams told The Daily Telegraph. "I've really grown into it - I feel like myself with short hair. And it's been a really long time since I had long hair, five years."
However, Williams clarified that not everyone has a problem with the look, adding: "Of course, the only people who like it are gay men and my girlfriends. Straight men across the board are not into this hair!
"I cut it for the one straight man who has ever liked short hair and I wear it in memorial of somebody who really loved it."
Williams recently revealed that she studied tapes of Marilyn Monroe speaking in order to prepare for her role in My Week with Marilyn.
She has said that she has considered quitting acting to live a more normal life.
