Kim Kardashian cancels Australian tour after Kris Humphries split

Kim Kardashian has cancelled the rest of her Australian tour and will return to the US later this week.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star was to be paid a reported $150,000 for an appearance in the Swisse vitamins marquee at Saturday's Melbourne Cup Carnival, but she has chosen to return home with sister Khloe Kardashian to deal with the fallout from her divorce filing.

Kardashian apologised for pulling out of the racing event, saying in a statement to Sydney's Herald Sun: "I am very disappointed that I am unable to attend the Swisse marquee but I hope to come back and work with the Swisse team at another point in time."

Her estranged husband Kris Humphries also cancelled a scheduled appearance at Paris Las Vegas's Chateau Nightclub & Garden this weekend to focus on his personal life.

Kardashian filed for divorce from Humphries on Monday only a few months after the couple tied the knot in a $20m wedding in Montecito, CA.

Kardashian has said that "intuition" led her to split from Humphries, but also strenuously denied that their marriage was a sham.
