Peter Andre has told Digital Spy that he is continuing "intense" therapy to avoid having an operation on his vocal cords.

The 'Perfect Night' singer attended the opening of London's new Disney store last night, along with excited children Junior and Princess Tiaamii.

Andre recently revealed that his music career could be left in doubt if he is forced to undergo surgery on the lesion in his throat.

Speaking exclusively to DS, he explained that he is keen to avoid the risk of having surgery.

"I'm doing therapy. I'm doing it about four or five times a week at the moment. So I reckon within a few months I should be [OK], hopefully," he said. "I won't have to have the operation if I keep doing this therapy. It's intense, but I've got to do it."

Andre continued: "If you have an operation, there are risks. If you don't, there's none. You know, singing is my passion."

However, fans will still be able to catch the 38-year-old live as he plans to continue with a "couple" of planned gigs.

Andre said: "I'm doing them because I can sing around what I need to. I can sing a bit lower if I have to. At the moment, it's not getting worse because I'm doing the therapy."

Of the reaction to the current run of his ITV2 series Peter Andre: My Life, Andre added that he is "loving" the "amazing" response from viewers.

"These two are the stars," he said of Junior and Princess Tiaamii's roles in the show. "Junior is a superstar."
