Salman Rushdie writes limerick about Kim Kardashian divorce

Salman Rushdie has made light of Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries's divorce.

The Satanic Verses writer took to Twitter to post a limerick parodying Kardashian for filing for divorce only 72 days after her fairytale wedding to NBA star Humphries.

Rushdie tweeted: "The marriage of poor kim kardashian was krushed like a kar in a krashian. her kris kried, not fair! why kan't I keep my share? But kardashian fell klean outa fashian. (sic)"

The acclaimed writer later revealed that he created the limerick after receiving a dare from a friend.

"I was challenged. Can't resist a challenge," he said.

Kardashian has insisted that her decision to divorce Humphries came down to "intuition" and denied that the marriage was a sham.

Kris Jenner has revealed that Kim feels that she has let her fans down by separating from Humphries.
