The 'Someone Like You' singer travelled to Massachusetts General Hospital for vocal cord microsurgery aimed at stopping bleeding resulting from a benign polyp.
The procedure was performed by Dr Steven Zeitels, director of the Massachusetts General Hospital Voice Centre, who expects Adele to make a full recovery.
Last month, Adele was forced to cancel all remaining concert dates and public appearances for 2011 in order to undergo the surgery and allow time for proper recuperation.
The 22-year-old has been plagued by vocal problems in the latter half of this year and cancelled many of her US and UK tour dates.
Adele recently denied suggestions that she is suffering from throat cancer after rumours began circulating online.
