Kym Marsh has said that she feels "lucky" to become a mother again after the death of her premature son.

The Coronation Street actress welcomed her daughter Polly with fiancé Jamie Lomas in March, two years after the couple lost their son Archie, who was born 18 weeks early.

Marsh, who also has two teenage children from a previous relationship, told New! that she had taken parenthood "for granted" before the recent tragedy.

"I realise how lucky I am, because when I was younger I hadn't had to go through what I've been through since," she admitted. "You take having a baby for granted at that age... she's so wanted because of what happened with Archie and because of what I went through to get her here in the first place.

"My other two are grown up now, so they don't care that I pay her so much attention. She is a special baby to us all because of everything that has happened."

Marsh also said that she found it "lovely" to be reminded of Archie when she looks at her seven-month-old.

"My dad said the same thing," she revealed. "He was the last one to hold Archie, so he really noticed the similarities.

"My dad is obsessed with Polly and I actually think that's why. I strongly believe there's an essence of Archie in her."

Marsh recently blasted the "cowards" on Twitter who commented on her inability to breast-feed Polly.
