Jessica Simpson has said that she wants her forthcoming wedding to fiancé Eric Johnson to go smoothly.

The couple were originally rumoured to be planning a lavish wedding for this month, but were recently said to be postponing the nuptials due to Simpson's pregnancy.

However, the Fashion Star mentor insisted that the couple had never actually settled on a wedding date and will take their time in order to get things right.

"[I want to wait until] after everything is over so I don't end up being a hormonal bridezilla," Simpson told Entertainment Tonight.

She continued: "Eric has been incredible, he will be an amazing dad. He's always asking me what I want and what I need. I'm really loving all the back rubs and the attention!"

Late last month, Simpson confirmed speculation that she and Johnson are expecting their first child.

As for why she waited so long to confirm her pregnancy, she said: "Honestly, my stomach was speaking for itself. This baby really wanted to be noticed! I couldn't really hold the secret for very long but I did want time for me and Eric and my family and closest friends."

An insider has claimed that while Simpson is finding pregnancy tiring, she is still "very, very excited" about the prospect of motherhood as she places great importance on her family.
