Dannii Minogue receives honorary degree of Doctor of Media

Dannii Minogue collected an honorary degree from Southampton Solent University today (November 9).
The singer received the honour for her "outstanding contribution to the entertainment industry", with a career that spans over four decades.
Minogue was handed the honorary degree of Doctor of Media at a special ceremony on board the HSQ Wellington in London.

The 40-year-old started her television career at the age of 7 on Australian television, appearing in popular soap operas Skyways and The Sullivans.
After performing on Young Talent Time throughout the '80s, Minogue played Emma Jackson in Home and Away from 1988.
She has since gone on to gain herself eight top ten singles in the UK including her debut 'Love and Kisses', 1997's 'All I Wanna Do' and 2003's 'I Begin To Wonder'.
More recently, Minogue has been in the spotlight for her roles on The X Factor and Australia's Got Talent.
The performer follows her sister Kylie Minogue, who also received an honorary degree from Anglia Ruskin University, Essex last month.
